MOTH & BIRD

Here's another image...finally one with a music sheet background! As is probably clear by now,  I love using birds as images in my work. I decided to put moths, another favorite of mine, in this one which I was definitely happy about.  It's really exciting to be putting together this little series since I can now combine bits and pieces from all of the lovely (and often strange) images I've been sourcing over the years. I hope you like them!

Here aew some more images by one of my favorite artists, Joseph Cornell. His work is so haunting and so beautiful. He also often uses birds in his collages and shadow-boxes! Isn't this one lovely?

Here's another of my favorites:

And here's another with lots and lots of birds!

Thanks for looking!

I'M OBSESSED...

I am officially crazy about using this new program and making these collages. Here's another one... I don't know how many I'll make before I get sick of this! It's definitely been keeping me busy (read: procrastinating on working on my finals)... but I love it!

COLLAGE

I just downloaded GIMP for free offline and just made my first collage! It was a little tricky to figure out, but I have always wanted to get better at using Photoshop. Since I don't have Photoshop on my computer I downloaded this free program. I think it's pretty cool! Definitely keeps my hands from getting all sticky and my floor from being covered in paper scraps!

I think I want to make a whole series of these...with different birds and different other objects and surroundings. I used a map of Paris as the background for this image. I definitely want to make one using music sheet paper!
